Often times people do good things to other people and get rewarded, either by good karma or by other means. However, sometimes a good deed can land you to jail.
Take the case of a guy who lent his cell phone to a friend. This friend used this cell phone to make some hurtful and threatening comments to a woman. The woman reported this to the authorities and the cell phone number was traced back to the owner – not the user. Read the full article here
You can also get in trouble when you act as a “carrier” for friends. In one case, an overseas worker was jailed when it was found that the mail she was carrying for her friends contained prohibited items.
It is disheartening to know that one need to think with caution before doing a good deed, but in our current society and specially if you are outside your own country, it is best to think safe than sorry.
